Kindred was born from a desire to work with clients who might not typically hire a traditional interior design firm — either from trepidation over losing control of their space, fear of an unworkable price tag, or limitations of a hectic schedule.
Do you have a room in your home that’s never worked quite well, functionally or visually? Like to change or update your design style but are unsure how to start? Have you recently renovated your home, but have the same furniture and it no longer seems to work? Want to improve your kitchen but need to keep a tight budget? Kindred works with clients on all of these projects and more — with an awareness of budget and desire to respect your personal style and preferences.
At a consultation, we will discuss everything from favorite interior styles (traditional, contemporary, eclectic, or I have no idea!) to budget (can we find items on Craigslist or estate sales? or I like brand-new furniture) to non-negotiables (i.e., the table was my grandmother's and we can't let it go, or the sofa had to be craned through a window, it stays until we move!).
You choose your level of design assistance — from a consult resulting in a list of recommendations empowering you to take control of your space, to personal shopping and styling, or anything in-between. The goal of Kindred is to understand what you want your space to be and help you get it there, with the budget that works for you.
